3. Siomai King
Students from nearby colleges including STI Fairview, AMA, and Our Lady of Fatima University frequent the park. Siomai King was closed at the time we visited, but having already tried their 5-piece siomai with crunchy garlic bits before, I’d say that it fits well within a student’s budget and is a great option for those looking for light merienda after class.
How could I siomai love for you? Let’s go get Japanese siomai and gulaman together! Okay, I’ll stop trying to be punny now. 🙁
2. Planet Shake
We all need good ol’ milkshakes. Planet Shake blends up premium thirst quenchers with 100% ice cream – sure to hit your sweet spot.
With flavors like “Choco-Loco Madness (P170)” and “Matcha Milkshake (P115)” (it’s a matcha-try because it’s so matcharap :P), expect creative premium shakes that bring all the boys AND girls to their turf. If your group of friends is thirsty, try their huge fishbowl blue/red raspberry juice in squad size (P80). If you also want go at it solo, though, I won’t judge you.
Batang 90’s? Their Ice Scramble Shake (P60) is made with ice cream, but doesn’t lose that familiar ice scramble texture. With colorful sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and all good things reminiscent of our favorite Filipino street treat; this pink drink will turn back the time to our childhood when we waited for Manong ice scramble to pass by our street. They also serve ice cream sandwiches. I don’t mind the brain freeze.

1. Meshwe
I used to snub shawarma joints because past experiences led me to believe that shawarma beef is hard to chew, especially if it costs less than P100. It’s different with Meshwe, though, because they offer authentic shawarma made the Lebanese way with real chicken/ falafel/beef that won’t pose a chewing challenge.
They get it tender by slow-roasting stacked slabs of the meat in their burners just right to the point where its juices don’t dry out.
Chicken Shawarma Platter (180)
Packed in charred pita bread with french fries inside, Meshwe shawarmas are a legitimate excuse to go out and satisfy your shawarma cravings all the way ‘til midnight. Also try their phenomenal garlic sauce!
Shawarma Salad (P120), Chicken Tenders Platter (P160), Hummus large with 2 Pita Bread (P150), and Beef Sambousak (P100)
Authentic Lebanese food? Check!
