Hey, Spongebob Squarepants fans! Our favorite sea sponge’s best friend is getting his own spin-off show!
Nickelodeon just announced its newest cartoon, “The Patrick Star Show,” which will follow the adventures and shenanigans of a younger version of Patrick Star, voiced by Bill Fagerbakke. It will have a total of 13 episodes and will be helmed by the creative team of the original “Spongebob Squarepants” series.
According to the official synopsis by Deadline, “The Patrick Star Show” is a family sitcom involving Patrick’s relatives who must cope with the sea star’s wild imagination, whimsy, and spontaneity as he hosts his own show for the neighborhood from his television-turned-bedroom. His little sister, Squidina, works behind the scenes to make sure Patrick’s show is always running smoothly, while his parents, Bunny and Cecil and his grandpa, GrandPat, each support Patrick in their own hilariously absurd ways.
Other beloved characters will also be making cameos during the series, including Spongebob, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton.
It’s scheduled for debut this Summer on Nickelodeon.
