Over 600 Deaf families are still quarantining because of the spread of the Coronavirus in Cavite, which is one of the places hit hardest by the virus. Many of them have lost their jobs and their livelihoods and are depending on donations to get by. While there was a good amount at the beginning, the donations have dwindled over time, leaving many without options.
Many are also having a difficult time understanding what’s going on because instructions and information are either lacking or not disability-friendly. Families are suffering from the loss of jobs and the difficulty to access to information on what they can do and where they can get donations and help to get by.
Many of these people are still clamoring for inclusivity and Deaf rights and to increase employment opportunities for the Deaf, as well as quality education. The virus has put a halt to this goal and they’re asking for our help.
