In 2017, Originals Only Ph (Oo) started out as a passion project by actor, singer-songwriter Guji Lorenzana, to help the struggling independent OPM artist. But today, Oo has become more than just a normal band gig. Oo has now evolved into a movement that says YES to OPM, bringing OPM artists, both seasoned and new, onto one stage every month in one awesome music production.
The Oo prod has also grown in the past year. Oo now has a weekly Oo event called the OO Hour, held every Monday from 9-10pm at Craft Rock & Grill in BGC, Taguig. Here we feature 1 to 2 artists weekly to an audience eager to hear new OPM music. Mondays are Craft’s OPM night, so OO provides a perfect introduction to the evening. OO has also teamed up with The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Philippines for the quarterly, OO Sessions. Here we feature intimate Oo sets, from original acoustic music to spoken word. Through these various OO events, we not only help the OPM community but also provide avenues to create awareness for various charities and organizations; even raising money for cancer awareness campaigns like the Be Alright Campaign of the Philippines. As Oo has grown, so has its family. Rooted in the Church, Originals Only Ph is focused on making a positive impact in the community.
OPEN DOOR MANAGEMENT PH
Through these OO events, Guji Lorenzana became acquainted with an array of artists and bands that lacked proper representation and management. It was because of this, Open Door Management Ph was born, with their first artist, St. Wolf. Open Door is also the home of independent artists like Ej De Perio, Sabu, Sepia Times, Vince Lucero, Tihtus and Mikee Misalucha. Open Door even handles Los Angeles, California based Youtube music sensation, Travis Atreo. And Open Door is still growing.
BATTLE OF THE BANDS / ARTISTS
This year, Originals Only Ph would like to give back to the indie scene with a chance to win a digital record deal with a major label, and an artist management contract with Open Door Management Ph. The OO Battle of The Bands / Artists will be judged by representatives from Warner Music Philippines, Sony Music Philippines, Ditto Music, Magic 899 and other well-respected individuals in the music industry.
Registration is now open for all bands and solo artists. The artists that submit to the competition must not have an existing digital deal with a label or management contract.
