Onlypans Taqueria is shutting down its Katipunan branch at The Pop-up in Quezon City. The beloved taco joint announced the news in a social media post on January 8, emphasizing that it wasn’t an easy decision to make.
“This is one of the hardest announcements weโve ever had to make. As we welcome the new year, weโre saying goodbye to our Katipunan branch. Itโs not a decision we made lightly, but one that we felt was necessary for us to grow and move forward as a brand,” the post read.
Calling it home, Onlypans Taqueria recalled fond memories of its Katipunan branch, including vibrant shows featuring their Drag Queen friends.
“It was a place where so many of you shared your time, your stories, and your love for what we do,” they added.
Onlypans Taqueria also expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited and supported the branch, “To every single one of you who came to visit, stayed for a taco (or ten), brought your friends, or simply supported us from afar, thank you. You made Katipunan special. You made it a home.”
“For now, we carry all the love, laughter, and memories from Katipunan with us as we take this next step. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being part of this journey. Sa tatlong magagandang taon, maraming maraming salamat, @thepopupkatipunan (For the three beautiful years, thank you very, very much),” they concluded.
Founded by Audrey Cruz in 2022, Onlypans Taqueria has become a popular spot in Poblacion, Makati, known for its mouthwatering birria tacos, burritos, and quesadillas.
In December 2024, the taco joint hinted at opening a new branch in BGC, expanding its existing branches in Alabang and La Union.
