ONE FC: Warrior’s Way – A Taste of Chaos!
Despite the threat of a super typhoon heading to Manila, there was no stopping the almost 20,000 fight fans from trooping to the Mall of Asia Arena to witness one of the greatest sport spectacles in Asia – ONE FC: Warrior’s Way! One Fighting Championship or ONE FC is the largest mixed martial arts promotion in Asia. It is currently headquartered in Singapore and led by CEO Victor Cui.
Seven out of the scheduled ten fights were Filipinos fighting for their home crowd. One of them was the co-headliner and making his ONE FC debut was international MMA superstar Brandon “The Truth” Vera.
In the Beginning…
I missed the preliminary matches because I was busy shooting at the red carpet wherein two Pinoy female fighters emerged victorious namely Ana Julaton and Jujeath Nagaowa defeating Walaa Abas and Tharoth Sam respectively. While the other Pinoy fighter, Rene Catalan loss via knock out to Dejdamron Sor Ammnuaysirichoke.
Celebrities who graced the red carpet were former Senator Freddie Webb, husband and wife Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati, Best buds Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez, Christian and Chelsea of reality show “I Do”, ex-Viva Hotbabe Gwen Garci, and UFC Hall of Famer and former WWE star Dan “The Beast” Severn.

It was already the light heavy weight match between Jake Butler and Sylvain Potard that I entered the arena. I was one of the lucky photographers who won the contest to get to shoot at the ringside. Meanwhile, it was sweet revenge for Butler who won the bout via an unanimous decision after suffering a loss from Potard on One FC: Total Domination.
Burns versus Banario
While the match between Herbert “The Blaze” Burns versus Honorio “The Rock” Banario ended in “The Rock” tapping out with “The Blaze” locking him on a rear naked choke. Giving the latter a flaming victory.
