Onda Valkeyrie V712: Budget tablet for those on the go

Packaging/Build: Packaging is pretty similar to the Samsung Galaxy Tab boxes. They are also somehow, are in the same form as an iPad Mini’s box, although slightly thicker. Very basic, but good to see that they are at least running quite a similar ground with higher brands and tablets on the packaging side. Moving to the build, I feel the Onda Valkeyrie V712 to be a little heavier than expected, due to the size. The form factor is good, the metal back gives a feel and finish that is slightly better than what the price would suggest. The screen has a similar border with the Samsung tabs and is pretty common. The buttons are a little hard and are plastic in feel, though it is good to have the assuring feel that they are not that flimsy.

Display: The display is something that gave quite an ok impression contrasting to the price. The color contrast and pixel quality is a notch above other China brand tablets looming everywhere. The colors have proper contrast and have enough color. Playing some videos I uploaded onto the tab was decent. Pixilation was less than expected and colors didn’t come out flushed compared to other budget friendly tablets.Â
