Be still our hearts!
Game of Thrones will be back on our screens for the seven-episode seventh season in July, but that might not be enough to satiate our desires for more Westeros drama, as the series is reportedly wrapping up after its eighth season, which will consist of only six episodes!
Not to worry, however, as speculations of a Game of Thrones spinoff are intensifying after showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss spoke out about the possibility.
Speaking at a GoT panel moderated by actresses Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, the creators talked about what they would do after the series has concluded:
“We all had dinner last night, and we were all saying we should go do different things. The characters who maybe will survive—there’s always going to be this temptation to keep doing it…to do the spin-off show or do the sequel show and everything. And I think HBO might well do one.”
Of course, talk about a GoT spinoff isn’t new. Just in January, there have been reports that HBO was considering a Game of Thrones prequel.
Looks like we’re just going to have to wait this one out!
