It was announced this morning that veteran actress Anita Linda passed away. She was 95 years old.
The news was confirmed by her daughter Francesca Legaspi in a text message to the Philippine Star. According to Legaspi, “She passed away this morning at home. (She had) difficulty of breathing.”
Adolf Alix, Jr., who worked with the actress in movies like Circa and Presa, said, “This is a very sad day for me. I am trembling as I am gathering my thoughts… The great Anita Linda has passed away this morning at 6:15AM. Prayers for her soul.“

Anita Linda is considered as the oldest active actress. She turned 95 in 2019, just a few years after Philippine cinema was born. The same year, the Film Development Council of the Philippines held Sandaan: Dunong ng Isang Ina to celebrate 100 years of Philippine cinema.
