A Movie About NSYNC is Coming! But Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Get Too Excited

Boyband NSYNC is getting the recognition they deserve with an upcoming movie feature centered around them! But before you get too excited, here’s why the movie may not be what you think it is.

According to Variety, Sony’s TriStar Pictures (the studio behind films Baby Driver and One Direction: This Is Us) has acquired a feature about the group, but it’s going to be more about a couple of teenagers who go on a wild adventure rather than a story with NSYNC members Lance Bass, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick as characters.

The movie was pitched as a cross between Pitch Perfect and Girls Trip based on the true story of two young NSYNC superfans who used their winnings from a game show to buy a motorhome and travel across the United States to follow NSYNC on their final tour in 2001.

The concept came from Lance Bass himself who will also be producing the film alongside Cindy Cowan of Cindy Cowan Entertainment (Miracle on 42nd Street). Lance also teased that music will be a major influence in the film and that it might even be worthy of becoming a Broadway production in the future.

Guess we’ll have to see it and find out if it’s true!

NSYNC rose to fame between 1995 to the early 2000s, taking the world by storm with hits like “Bye Bye Bye” and “It’s Gonna Be Me.” They are still one of the best-selling boy bands in history.
