On account of our aim to inspire the Filipino youth in their studies, especially in the field of writing,
we would like to bring to your attention a seminar that will edify and uplift the passion of the students who are enthusiastic about the craft. Spearheaded by one of the best and most awarded Filipino writer, Mr. Ricardo ‘Ricky’ Lee, the event will be titled, NOW SHOWING: MASTER CLASS.
Mr. Ricky Lee has written more than 150 film scripts and various television shows, plays and novels. He has won more than 50 trophies and accolades from various award-giving bodies; GawadUrian, PMPC Star Awards for Movies, FAP Awards, FAMAS Awards and MMFF. In 2003, he was bestowed the Natatanging Gawad Urian Lifetime Achievement Award from the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (Filipino Film Critics). He was also the 2015 Award of the UP Gawad Plaridel, which recognizes Filipino media practitioners who have excelled in any of the media (print, radio, film and television) and have performed with the highest level of professional integrity in the interest of public service.
As a screenwriter, he has worked with top Filipino film directors, most notably Lino Brocka and Ishmael Bernal. Many of his films have been screened in the international film festival circuit including Cannes, Toronto, Berlin and other cities.
Produced by Aslan Advertising, NOW SHOWING: MASTER CLASSÂ aims to give an open opportunity to all writing enthusiasts to learn straight from the Writing Master. This will be a 4-hour lecture session with Mr. Ricky Lee, interspersed with excerpts from his abundant works.
Not like the usual seminar that Mr. Ricky Lee holds, this event will equip the participants with the secrets, hacks and techniques of different areas of writing, in an intimate setup that may pave their way to the business industry. The first leg will be held on January 21, 2017 at SM North EDSA, Cinema 6, from 3:00pm – 7:00pm.
