Celebrity couple Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have just welcomed their first child together as announced on an Instagram post last January 22, Saturday.
The two had their baby, a daughter, via surrogate pregnancy. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” they wrote in a shared statement. “We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”

The news came as a surprise to fans and friends, although others are saying that we should have seen it coming after Priyanka had made a joke about it in the recent Netflix special “Jonas Brothers Family Roast.”
“I love that I married a man who, like myself, values family,” Priyanka had said. “If you don’t know, we’re the only couple who doesn’t have kids yet. Which is why I’m excited to make this announcement. Sorry, babe.”
Then, she said, “We’re expecting…”
The Jonas Brothers looked completely off-guard by her announcement until she finished her sentence: “…To get drunk tonight and sleep in tomorrow!”
She then laughed at her husband’s reaction. “Your face was really funny when I said that.” To which Nick replied, “Yeah, I was a bit concerned.”
Whether he was concerned if Priyanka was pregnant or that she was giving away their secret so early, we’re not certain. But one thing’s for sure: it seems that the couple are really looking forward to growing their family.
