As discussed in the article, the award was under the “Nicole’ category which ‘honors Filipino women whose words, actions, and activism inspire others to act and revolutionize society’s way of understanding traditional beliefs and customs. FWN added: “Thus, leaving behind a Filipino global imprint.

Additionally, VP told the FWN members during the summit to “spread women empowerment to change the face of the society.”

She described the Filipina today as: “more powerful, more accomplished, more emphatic, and more socially aware than ever before.”

“We are not here to rule the world. We are about creating the world where despots and heroes are no longer needed, so that each one of can be a hero,” she added.

Interestingly, the article also stated that although her office has minimal funds, VP Robredo confirmed that “women empowerment” is one of the five areas that the Office of the Vice President has vowed to prioritize. The rest of the areas were cited as zero in hunger and food security, rural development, education, and public health.

Ultimately, VP Robredo as we know her is truly a remarkable and resilient person. She truly describes simplicity and maturity which are notable qualities of a Filipina.

Congratulations!
