From top to bottom: Hong Kong Master Chef Wong Kam On’s Canadian beef and mango roll, stir fried diced beef with salt and pepper and my favorite dish of the night: beef steak with goose liver and black truffle sauce.

I don’t know how many times I went back for the beef steak with goose liver and black truffle sauce, though. The juiciness of the beef and the earthiness of the liver and truffle sauce is just something to experience.
Aside from that, I also went back for
seconds fifths for the tenderloin and striploin, smothering them with deep dark rich gravy and finishing them off with freshly baked buns.
And of course, the mandatory desserts.
The meat was way more than enough to feed all of the people that were present three times over at the media day! I honestly believe that everyone present wined and dined to their hearts’ content as much I did. Even though we are a pork-loving nation, proven by three of our most popular dishes – adobo, lechon and sinigang – there is always a place for beef in our hearts. I bet premium Canadian beef would taste great with mechado, bulalo and kaldereta!
This month of July, head over to New World Makati Hotel’s Cafe 1228 and Jasmine restaurants. For Php1,999 during lunch and Php2,299 for dinner, get to enjoy premium Canadian beef to your heart’s content – until your bellies burst with beef and you can barely stand! I assure you that you’ll never forget the experience and especially the taste.
