Soon, travel from Recto in Manila to Masinag in Rizal will be a lot shorter.
When the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 Extension is opened, travel time from end to end will be reduced from 3 hours to only 40 minutes. This will be a 77% reduction in travel time.
According to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar:
With the LRT Line 2 East (Masinag Extension), travel time from Recto to Masinag, Antipolo will be reduced by over 77%, from 3 hours to only about 40 minutes.

The LRT Line 2 Extension is set to be open in August 2018.
