We keep reading and hearing news about taxi drivers who take advantage of their customers, so we think it’s time to change it up and report about honest drivers. This story was shared by Rej G. on Facebook and is currently going viral. According to him, an honest driver returned his phone after he left it in the taxi.
Papunta akong Fort kanina, sa kakamadali naiwan ko ang phone ko sa taxi na sinakyan ko. Nalaman ko na lang na wala na sa bag ko nung nakababa na ako at nakaalis na ang taxi.
(I was on my way to the Fort earlier and in my hurry, I left my phone in the taxi I was in. I realized I had left it when I got down and the driver left.)
He quickly called his phone, and fortunately, the driver picked up.
Tinawagan ko agad yung phone ko. Buti sinagot ni Mr. Edwin Danao ng GrabTaxi (plate number YQ4063). Sinabi niya na ‘wag akong mag-alala at maibabalik ang phone ko, ihahatid niya lang ang na-accept niyang pasahero. Totoo nga, binalik niya ng buong-buo at hindi naghahanap ng kapalit.
(I called my phone right away. Luckily, Mr. Edwin Danao of GrabTaxi (plate number YQ4063) picked it up. He told me not to worry and he’ll return my phone after he drops off his passenger. He returned my phone later without asking for anything in return.
It’s men like Danao who restores our faith in humanity!
