Netflix’s Upcoming ‘Resident Evil’ Series Will Be Set in the Canon of the Video Games

Any fans of the horror game ‘Resident Evil’ out there? I still remember just watching my sister play the ‘Resident Evil’ games on our PlayStation when I was in my pre-teenage years. The graphics have improved a ton since then (and I’m no longer as much of a coward as I was back then), so the announcement that the game will be turned into a Netflix original CG anime series is something I am incredibly excited about. It is coming at a time when I can really fully enjoy it in all of its CG glory – and it will be set in the canon of the games, too!

On Twitter, @NXOnNetflix tweeted, “When biohazards run wild, only a pair of veteran zombie slayers can get the job done. ‘Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness’ is a new original series set in the canon of Capcom’s classic survival horror franchise ‘Resident Evil’, coming next year.”

Although no further details have been revealed yet, the photos of the leads, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, look absolutely awesome:

And the trailer does, too:

It might be hard to keep up with what is canon in the video games, but it’s important to note that the live action movies are not considered to be canon.

Netflix has yet to announce the official date for ‘Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness’ to stream, but you can be sure we’ll be adding it to our My List on Netflix. Will you?
