NBA Plans to Restart the Season in July

Basketball lovers in the Philippines may not be able to play basketball just yet, but it looks like they’ll be able to watch NBA games again soon. The NBA has officially announced that they plan on restarting the 2019-20 regular season this July.

After talks with the Walt Disney Company, the NBA plans to host their upcoming games at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. NBA Chief Communications Officer Mike Bass says this will be the single site for an NBA campus for games, practices, and housing.

“Our priority continues to be the health and safety of all involved,” he assures. “We are working with public health experts and government officials on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate medial protocols and protections are in place.”

NBA games have been postponed since March 11 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so it is still unclear on how things will work from here. To make their decisions, a survey has been sent out to general managers regarding their options. Advice has also been sought from public health professionals.
