The NBA has suspended its current season indefinitely due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The announcement was made on Wednesday (Thursday in the Philippines).
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder players are under quarantine in Oklahoma City after Rudy Gobert, a player for the Jazz, tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Jazz and Thunder players are currently quarantined in the OKC arena, league sources tell ESPN. This is following Rudy Gobert testing positive for the coronavirus.

Earlier in the week, Gobert made light of the COVID-19 pandemic, so he touched all of the microphones and recording equipment in the media room during a press conference.

In a statement, the NBA announced the Jazz-Thunder news without mentioning Gobert by name.

“The test result was reported shortly prior to the tip-off of tonight’s game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena,” the league wrote. “At that time, tonight’s game was canceled. The affected player was not in the arena.”
“The NBA is suspending gameplay following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice,” it added. “The NBA will use this hiatus to determine [the] next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”
