Nadine Lustre is on a roll. After becoming the first Filipino endorser for H&M and starring in the film Ulan, the actress has received another blessing: she was recognized as the winner of Best Performance for her role in Never Not Love You by the Young Critics Circle Film Desk (YCC-FD).
The YCC-FD is a film critics and an award-giving body made up of members from the University of the Philippines Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines Mindanao, and Philippine High School for the Arts. Each year it screens regular and non-regular releases from the Philippines, and awards Best Film, Best Performance, Best Screenplay, Best Achievement in Editing, Best Achievement in Cinematography and Visual Design, and Best Achievement in Sound and Aural Orchestration.
Never Not Love You follows Lustre and on- and off-screen partner James Reid as Joanne and Gio, a young couple whose love story takes an unexpected turn because of their dreams. The film is directed by Antoinette Jadaone, who also directed Alone/Together, Love You to the Stars and Back, and That Thing Called Tadhana. She was also the writer for English Only, Please.
The awarding ceremony for the YCC-FD will be held in August 2019 at the UP Diliman Vargas Museum.
Congratulations, Nadine!
