Finally after all that eating, it’s time to move on to Naci’s specialties! Did you know that “Naci” literally means Rice in several languages? Being the ultimate comfort food for most, Naci is proud to share with you Chef Ed’s take on familiar rice favorites inspired from different parts of the world!
Peruvian Chicken Rice (P420)
The Peruvian Chicken Rice was packed full with spices and has a good punch of chilli and bell peppers. The chicken adds a welcome firmness to the softness of the paella. This was co-WhenInManila.com writer, Davis Tan’s favorite dish of the night.

Shrimp Jambalaya Rice (P480)
Oooh I loved the Jambalaya Rice! Co-WhenInManila.com writer Ivica Say shares how she is not a fan of rice but the Shrimp Jambalaya Rice (as well as the Peruvian Chicken Rice) just blew her away. She felt so full but still couldn’t stop eating just because it was that good! This dish is also our co-writer, Jason Cruz’ favorite of the night. According to him, it brings back memories of Malaysian dishes from when he was growing up with its hint of curry, spices and mixed relish. The shrimp makes the meal extra special too. (P.S. Jason grew up in Malaysia)
With or without the lemon, the Jambalaya Rice was delicious!
Naci Comfort Food: Dessert
Of course, the number one comfort food for most… dessert!
Pistachio Sansrival: “Crispy Comfort” Regular Size (8”): P900, Per Slice: P120
Layers of crispy meringue and rich pistachio buttercream loaded with roasted pistachio nuts. Can’t go wrong with pistachios! The play of texture and flavor all in this cake. It was Jason’s dessert pick for the night.
Black and White (P90)
Premium dark belgian chocolate ganache on top of vanilla cupcake. The chocolate was soooo good. It was hard on the outside but super soft on the inside. It’s like the chocolate explodes in your mouth when you bite it. Co-WhenInManila.com writer Cholo Isungga thinks that the chocolate had great texture and ample smoothness to compliment the mixture of the belgian chocolate coating over the ganache cream.
Molten Lava Cake (P190)
This was my personal favorite dessert that night. It’s composed of rich chocolate cake with a molten chocolate center of belgian chocolate and served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. The hot and cold combination was just perfect.
Love the extra touch of “Naci” above
The Swiss Mocha is one of their newest additions to the menu. At first bite, it tastes normal, like there’s nothing special about it. As you continue eating though, the taste somehow sinks in and it gets even better. The Red Velvet Cake “The Southern Sweetheart” (Regular Size (8”): P850, Per Slice: P130) has that classic red velvet taste which felt smooth and soft on the tongue.
Can’t feel comfort without dessert right?
The overall experience was great and I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back to Naci with my friends in the near future. What I specifically liked about Naci Comfort Food is that they make sure you get the whole package when you dine with them. It isn’t just about the food, it’s about how you feel when you’re there. From the bright colors, to the wall displays, to the relaxing comfort rooms and the overall design. This is one restaurant that really makes you feel at home.

P.S. They have live bands that perform at 8pm every Friday night. One band per month. And since this is “home”, they do allow customers to volunteer to get up on stage and sing! Fun right?
