SEVENTEEN, the multinational K-Pop group, is making their way to meet their Filipino fans again as MMI Live has officially announced their performance in the Philippines, billed as the boy group’s 2017 SEVENTEEN 1ST WORLD TOUR “DIAMOND EDGE,” on October 6, 2017 at the MALL OF ASIA ARENA.

Known as “a self-producing idol group” under Pledis Entertainment, SEVENTEEN features 13 members of unique personalities with three talented sub-units namely: hip-hop unit (S.COUPS, WONWOO, MINGYU, and VERNON), vocals unit (WOOZI, JEONGHAN, JOSHUA, DK, and SEUNGKWAN) and performance unit (THE8, HOSHI, JUN, and DINO). The group’s members are deeply involved in the composition and choreography, leading to the nickname “self-producing” idol group.

Considering this as the group’s second visit in Manila, SEVENTEEN has prepared performances from their four successful albums, and they are going to perform their latest album releasing on May. Their debut EP entitled “17 Carat”, digitally released in 2015, soared success among Asian pop groups. The album made its way as the only rookie album on Billboard’s 10 Best K-Pop Albums of 2015 and became the longest-charting K-Pop album of the year in the US.

SEVENTEEN‘s first full-length studio album, Love & Letter released in 2016. The album sold over 150,000 copies in pre-orders prior to release and charted at No. 1 on the Gaon Album Chart and on the Oricon Weekly Pop Album Charts in Japan. Seventeen received their first win on a music show with the title track “Pretty U”, and the album placing fourth on Gaon’s 2016 half-yearly physical album charts, with SEVENTEEN being the highest charting rookie group on the list.

In 2016, the group also released their third EP, Going Seventeen, in three versions: ‘Make a Wish’, ‘Make it Happen’ and ‘Make the Seventeen’. The album debuted atop the Gaon Album Chart, shifting over 130,000 copies in its first week. The multinational K-Pop boy group further proved their immense popularity after having performed in two sold-out concerts in Seoul in 2016.

The “idol” group with their youngest member at 18, and oldest at 21 has received numerous accolades including the “2015 Rookie Award” during The 25th Seoul Music Awards, “Best Star Award” at the 2016 Asia Artist Award, “World Performer” at the MNET Asian Music Award, “JTBC2 Rookie Award” at the 30th Golden Disk Awards, “Popular Singer Award” during the 11th Asia Model Festival, and the main prize at The 31st Golden Disk Awards this 2017.
