More Than 191,000 Filipinos Fully Vaccinated Since March

In a span of 1 month, 191,000 individuals have been fully vaccinated. According to the Department of Health, the Philippines administered 1,456,793 doses in 3,155 nationwide as of April 17.

1,264,811 Filipinos got their first jab of either AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccine and 191,982 healthcare workers got their second dose.

The Department of Health is preparing to vaccinate the fourth priority group- economic frontliners in essential services. This is to get more people vaccinated towards to government’s goal of inoculating 70 million people within 2021.

“Vaccines work. Getting vaccinated with available vaccines in the country can prevent severe COVID-19 and thus can prevent death,” Dr. Myrna Cabotaje of DOH said.

Over 3million COVID-19 vaccines were delivered in the Philippines and 500,000 doses from Sinovac are to arrive on April 22 and another 500,000 on April 29.

Aside from Sinovac, Pfizer-BioNTech and Sputnik V vaccine is said to arrive by end-April.
