Netflix suspended filming of all of their original projects last March due to the pandemic and recently posted a cryptic finale-sounding post about ‘Money Heist’ Season 5, but we’ve got something new to get excited about. My favorite Heist cast member, Pedro Alonso (who plays Berlin), has always been pretty active on Instagram; but he has been extra active these past couple of days.
Two days ago, he posted a few selfies on his Instagram account, where he is seen lying on a bed. Seems innocent enough. However, his caption read, “First day of shooting.” And while it could be argued that he could be shooting anything at this point (seeing as how he has been pretty active with acting gigs outside of ‘Money Heist’), he ended his caption with LCDP5 which – come on! – definitely stands for ‘La Casa de Papel 5’:

If you still aren’t convinced, he also posted something else on Instagram yesterday: a Danish news snippet, the headline of which reads “Netflix hit series films scenes in Nyhavn: the Spanish series ‘Money Heist’ is filming in the Danish city nowadays.”

We are so happy the fifth season is underway (even if it might be the last), and I am even happier that Berlin will be in it once again. I LOVE HIM.
That aside, word on the street is that two new members will be joining the cast: Miguel Angel Silvestre (Sense8) and Patrick Criado. Their roles have not yet been disclosed, though.
