Singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre has broken her silence on her split with husband Jason Hernandez, days after the two announced it through a joint statement shared on Jason’s social media accounts.
On the announcement, it was revealed that the cause of their breakup was Jason’s infidelity to Moira which he said happened earlier this year. Since then, many netizens began to speculate who the third party was and whether Moira had also been unfaithful to her former husband when they were still together. It was because of this that Moira decided to speak up against these “fabricated stories.”
“For those of you who know my story, you can imagine the long journey of grieving and healing I have ahead of me. The revelations of things that happened over the last two years have been difficult, painful, and heartbreaking to process,” she began on her statement.

“In spite of the pain I’m experiencing, let me set the record straight. While our marriage was not perfect, I have stayed true to my vows and I have never cheated on Jason. This has not been easy on either of us and our families. I only wish to put an end to the speculations regarding what happened between Jason and I.”
Moira added that it still pains her to hear what’s being said about them online and stressed that they are “so far from the truth.”
“The both of us still have a long way to go when it comes to healing and we ask for respect during this difficult time,” she said. “I don’t know what the future holds, but hope continues to be the song that I sing. Even in pain—especially in pain—I will continue to place my complete trust in the one who has never let me down.”
She then thanked fans for sending messages of comfort to her the past week and shared her love to all those who are going through the same thing she is right now.
It was last April when rumors about their split started to circulate online when fans reportedly noticed that Moira had deleted most of their photos together. Jason, however, denied it at the time. They were married for three years.
