Moevenpick Hotel Heritage Sentosa: The Best Hotel for a Tranquil Retreat from Buzzing Singapore

This is the view just by our room door, hello hello Mr. Merlion! Aren’t you dashing, especially at night? Some people find the Merlion statue creepy but to me it’s eerily beautiful.

After feeling the night breeze downstairs at this cool area; the Merlion statue seemed to complete the night of every guests who stay here. The low-lit chess pieces were astonishing along with the changing colours of the Merlion. They send an alluring sense of charm and somehow a playful invasion to one’s imagination.

Moevenpick Hotel Heritage Sentosa has sleek rooms that spell the word relaxation with utmost ease. Moevenpick Hotel Heritage Sentosa‘s well-appointed (105) rooms are designed by the internationally renowned Japanese design company Super Potato. The rooms are enveloped with warm neutral colours; nicely selected fabrics and the wooden furnishing add up to the expansive and a homier feel to it. Apart from being spacious and clean, you’ll notice more amenities incorporated into their rooms, which other luxury hotels might not be able to offer. Their super comfy beds receive a lot of compliments from guests; as I laid there, I didn’t even want to get up the next morning. If you have a partner that tosses and turns all night, this bed will be your buddy. I slept like a log and their mattress has a certain softness feel to it (something that makes you want to buy one for your own use at home).

Less clutter as they do not have cardboard signage for DND (Do Not Disturb) and MakeUp Room Requests which you usually hang on your doorknob.

Just one switch and your request is all good.

Yukata with matching slippers; adorable prints! The slippers is comfy as well; not those flimsy ones.

Automated blinds; safety vault; iron board set; torch light; plasma TV with cable (limited but decent channels); mini bar/fridge; water boiler; reads/magazines…

Additional room features/amenities:

Nespresso Machine CITIZ – C110 (Fire engine red) – so that one can whip up a freshly brewed coffee any time of the day or even night (hurrah for coffee lovers!); coffee connoisseur or not, the retro Nespresso Machine is too irresistible to ignore. Besides I highly think it serves as an accent piece to its bar counter. Not just 1 coffee capsule but bar was supplied with up to 4 varieties. The coffee and tea along with the bottled water were complimentary. Have the phenomenal feeling of this combo: the delicious froth after making a fresh cuppa coffee from the Nespresso machine and a nice re-run of your favourite romantic or horror film on cable, curl up in that cosy bed (with that love of your life!) and bid adieu to the world. I wish we could have that 24/7!

Pull out the bar drawer and you’ll also have wine glasses in case you have some booze to enjoy or for those special occasions you want to celebrate in private. We were armed with a bottle of Bacardi Mojito (our friends got us one for this staycation)… so timely! The huge-perfect-for-hangover bed is nodding with a formidable approval.

TWG Teas – authentic teas (no extensive menu to make you giddy for all the long list of tea names, fret not); to relax you at the end of a strenuous work activities. I was only expecting to see those normal tea brands but TWG’s in their counter..is Moevenpick Hotel Heritage Sentosa awesome or what?

The room actually has 3 telephone units: bedside drawer; the writing/study table; last one was inside the toilet cubicle.

Moevenpick Hotel Heritage Sentosa has a granite infused bathroom with a deep-set tub that can fit two! We were skeptical that it can fit a couple, but it did. The shower and toilet is also separate, both with doors for privacy. As the tech trend goes on that everything must connect to something wirelessly, they have an LCD flat TV screen with Bluetooth feature. For ladies out there, a magnified double-sided mirror that lights up to your delight. You can even pluck or tweeze your brows here if you wish or get that perfectly drawn eyeliner before going out on a party at Siloso beach (make sure it’s waterproof if it’s a pool party, okay?).

The bathroom toiletries were housed in bamboo steam baskets; loveable idea with that smattering Asian feel.

I thought there was a dimsum surprise waiting for us ..erm, but placed inside the toilet? Absurd right lol.

They have two staff stationed at the main door; so if one gets engaged in say like, helping out one guest upon arrival; there is still an extra manpower. Besides it’s always a pleasure receiving multiple genuine smiles from them!

Moevenpick Hotel Heritage Sentosa will also provide you with the pink cards or access pass/tickets to be able to gain free usage to the monorail and Sentosa Island itself. If you are driving or taking public transportation, there is no need to pay for additional fees. If there is one feature Moevenpick Hotel Heritage Sentosa is proud of, it’s the location. The service comes hand in hand too; their staff are friendly and makes sure your needs are well-attended.

Hail to my new favorite spot! I felt like a Queen in between these Knights…the wooden swing chair was my throne , totally in love!

After rounding the Universal Studio rides, doing the Sentosa Island Hop tour, last thing you want to do is walk for another hour or so. The hotel has the best access for all this oasis of fun; accommodation and service was never compromised. For that tranquil retreat from the never-ending pulsating busy life of Singapore City, Moevenpick Hotel Heritage Sentosa is indeed recommended for all. It’s great (proximity- wise) and you will find yourself so close to the thrilling attractions and fun at Sentosa Island.
