The Model United Nations is an academic experience which aims to simulate various committees of the United Nations with participants acting as the representatives of member states. The goal of this event is to allow the delegates to know more about the United Nations by allowing them to research about timely issues that are happening across the globe as well as to promote peace and foster camaraderie among each member state through diplomacy. Moreover, we believe that this event would allow each participant to develop oneself through the various activities that will be done.

The University of Santo Tomas Model United Nations (USTMUN) is a project of the Asian Studies Society (ASSOC), in partnership with the UNESCO Club UST, catering not only to Thomasians but also to other college students here and abroad as well as to the UST Alumni.
It will be held on March 2 to 4, 2016 with the theme “Resolving the Challenges in Today’s Era of Globalization.

This conference trains them to apply what they have learned in school particularly in the political, security, economic and social areas. It improves their skills in thinking, communication, debating, and policy analysis. USTMUN is an avenue for them to be equipped on how to deal with global issues and to be able to create networks and build friendships through interaction and intellectual conversations.
