MMFF to happen twice a year beginning 2020

MMFF

Starting in 2020, the Metro Manila Film Festival will happen twice a year. This is due to the approval of the Senator Bong Go’s proposal, who also happens to be the newest member of the committee.

The second edition of the MMFF, which is called the Metro Manila Summer Film Festival, is set to happen from April 11 to April 21, 2020.

During the 11-day run, eight movies will be selected. These movies will be exclusively shown in theaters in Metro Manila and all over the country.

Entries to the second run will include submitted finished films produced not earlier than January 1, 2019, including those that were earlier submitted for the 2019 MMFF finished film competition, according to the committee.

In the summer edition of the MMFF, the Parade of the Stars is scheduled on April 5 while the Awards Night will be on April 15.

The committee announced this on July 25.
