The Miss Universe Philippines organization has revealed the top 50 candidates who will soon get a chance to earn the coveted crown in this year’s beauty pageant.
In a social media post last weekend, the organization shared the glam photos of the first batch of candidates before they trim them down to the Top 30.
“Introducing this year’s roster of Filipina beauties vying for the most prestigious crown in the country,” the post read. “This edition is made more exciting by starting with 50 official delegates! We’re narrowing the field to get us closer to our Final 30 delegates. This also allows our Accredited Partners and their teams to hone in on fewer women and give them maximum support in the online challenges and preparations.

Among those who made it are Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Dee, Miss Earth Philippines Celesti Cortesi, and Miss Universe Philippines 2020 third Runner-up Pauline Amelinckx.
The MUPH organization partnered with Kumu this year to have an “interactive pageant” where they will be giving their candidates “fun live streaming tasks” and “daily and weekly kumustuhan segments” among other activities.
Last year, the organization revealed the Top 100 delegates and steadily trimmed them down based on their individual performance in challenges as well as votes from supporters. It seems that has changed this year with only the Top 50 being shared with Filipino netizens before the Final 30 is determined.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2022 pageant night will be held on April 30, 2022. Reigning titleholder Beatrice Luigi Gomez, who finished Top 5 in the Miss Universe 2021 competition, will be crowning her successor then.
