That’s really saying a lot!
Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart said that the Philippine hosting of the Miss Universe pageant was the “best show” she’s ever done.
In a press conference after Miss France Iris Mittenaere was crowned as this year’s Miss Universe, Shugart said:
“This is the best show I’ve ever done. I’m honored to have a panel that consists of former winners.”
As a token of her gratitude, Shugart even presented former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson a sash that read, “Mister Universe”, who was part of the pageant host committee.
DOT Secretary Wanda Teo was also happy with the hosting, as she said that she hoped that the the effect of the country’s hosting “will be (that) lots of tourists would come.”
