It’s the Philippines’ time to shine in international pageants. After our continuous wins in different pageants, and the confirmation that the country will host the next Miss Universe, Miss Philippines Christine Joy Picardal wins the Miss Diamond of the World crown for 2016.
She was awarded on October 6, 2016 at Sofitel Algiers in Algeria.
Picardal bested 29 other candidates, including candidates from Romania (1st runner-up) and Russia (2nd runner-up).
Picardal is a 22 year old freelance model. Prior to joining the pageant, she was crowned Miss Baguio 2014. She was also the 2nd runner up at Miss Agoo in 2009 and 3rd runner-up at the Limgas na Dayat pageant in 2016, held in Pangasinan.
Miss Diamond of the World is Algeria’s first international pageant, and was launched in 2015.
