“Misfits” is Getting a US Reboot and the Cast is Here!

Misfits US

Fans of the British show Misfits will be happy (or angry?) to hear that the beloved show will be having a US reboot and that the cast has been announced.

Misfits ran from 2009 to 2013, and tells the story of a group of young offenders doing community service for various crimes. They develop supernatural powers after an electrical storm. The first season received critical acclaim, with The Guardian saying “Misfits is indeed silly – sillier, even, than it sounds – but it’s also brilliant: sharp, funny, dark and, in places, quite chilling.” The show lasted five seasons with 37 episodes.

Alisha will be portrayed by Ashleigh LaThrop (Fifty Shades Darker), Curtis by Tre Hall (Rebel), Kelly by Allie MacDonald (Orphan Black), and Nathan by Jake Cannavale (Nurse Jackie). There’s no word who will portray Simon.

News of the US remake started in 2011, but it only received its pilot order recently. The remake will be led by Chuck, The O.C., and Gossip Girl writer and producer Josh Schwartz, with the writing help of iZombie co-creator Diane Ruggiero. Misfits’ creator Howard Overman will serve as executive producer.

There’s no news when it will come out.
