Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are seriously one of our favorite young couples in Hollywood.
The two fell madly in love when they met on the set of The Last Song in 2009, got engaged in 2012, but broke up in 2013. However, the two got back together a little over a year ago and while the two have since kept their relationship mostly private save for a few Instagram photos, it seems that they’re in a good place now.
Between the time that they broke up, there was a funny and unexpected way that Miley stayed on Liam’s mind that pretty much proves serendipity is real! In an interview with Howard Stern on his radio show, Miley shared that during their split, Liam bought a house in Malibu where Miley recorded her first album, “Breakout” — but he didn’t know it at the time!
“So you know, me and Liam—he’s my boyfriend now—broke up for a minute, he wanted to get away from me, he wanted to go to Malibu and bought this house.”
Miley added:
“He didn’t know it was the house I recorded my first album in. The person hid all the plaques in the garage so he would still buy the house. So then he went to move in and he was like ‘Fuck, I cannot get away, this bitch is all over my fucking house!'”
Miley shared that the house — which they both now live in together — was the inspiration for her song, “Malibu”, bringing the story to a full circle.
“So now that we’re back together, my song ‘Malibu’ is about the house that I live in, in Malibu, which is where I recorded my first album.”
