Four days ago, veteran actor Eddie Garcia passed away following an accident that occurred during a shoot for a TV show.
His passing has, without a doubt, affected many people of all walks of life. After his passing, his stepson Mikee Romero voiced out that he will be filing a bill with hopes to ensure the safety and welfare of all actors from here on out.
Romero stated that he expects more than 100 legislators to sign the Actors Occupational Safety and Health Standard Bill or the “Eddie Garcia Law”.
Aside from providing insurance to those working in the TV and film industry, the bill is set to specify certain working hours for actors based on their age, as well as set the right procedures to be followed in terms of safety.
