Owners Kim and Marou Gloria were both former bankers who decided to take the risk of opening their own restaurant out of their love for food and cooking. Being both Marikeños themselves, they addressed the local’s need for good comfort food and casual dining restaurants by opening their first Miguel & Maria branch in Lilac Street. Their vision is to bring the same experience that they usually have when dining at casual dining restaurants to Marikina at a fairly good price.
With the help of good friends, they were able to bring their vision and ideas into the dishes that they serve to their diners today. Since then, their chain of restaurants has become frequented by people from different parts of the Metro.
From their humble beginnings as a small restaurant along Lilac St., they decided to open their third branch of this casual dining gem along Gil Fernando Avenue in Marikina.
Miguel & Maria’s homey and zen ambiance brings a cozy dining experience for the diners. Their spacious area is perfect for events and private functions.
Miguel & Maria’s menu offers a myriad of Western comfort food for the hungry soul (in big servings, too!). Here are some of their bestsellers:
Buffalo Chicken Wings (P240)
The Buffalo Chicken Wings are served tender with their signature dips. Each part is glazed with flavor and has just the right amount of kick.
Mac & Cheese (P230)
Nothing brings comfort like a good bowl of mac & cheese. Their mac & cheese is perfectly smothered in their homemade creamy cheese sauce.
Miguel & Maria’s Burger (P240)
You can never go wrong with a good ol’ juicy burger. Their homemade pure meat burger patties are grilled to perfection and served with fries.
Baby Back Ribs (P280)
Miguel & Maria’s classic baby back ribs are a crowd favorite. Their fall-off-the-bones ribs are grilled to perfection and served with a side of coleslaw and java rice.
Baked Salmon (P370)
This dish is made of Norwegian salmon topped with three kinds of melted cheese and is served with creamy mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables.
Miguel’s Platter (P670)
Miguel’s Platter consists of their signature barbecue ribs, juicy baked herb chicken, and Hungarian sausages. You also have the option to choose three kinds of side dishes, making it perfect for sharing.
Blueberry Cheesecake (P160)
A piece of this delicious homemade blueberry cheesecake is a great way to cap off a hearty meal.
Apart from the hearty, comforting meals and homey ambiance, the Miguel & Maria chain of restaurants are also open to private functions and group reservations. Their other restaurant, Comedor by Miguel & Maria, offers Filipino food to give more food variety options at the budding food strip at Gil Fernando. They also have a live folk artist playing in Comedor every Friday night, making it a perfect place for dates or unwinding with friends.
When in Marikina and looking for a place with great food and ambiance that’s worth every penny, Miguel & Maria is definitely the place to visit.
