When in Manila, forgive me if I wax poetic about the importance of a great skin care regimen. Recently I was able to come across the world’s first extensive range of internationally certified organic products that can get rid of your skin woes for good, and I just want to share my experience with anyone interested.

Made in a unique cold formulation to preserve the active ingredients, Miessence skin care products are designed around four different skin profiles:Â balancing, rejuvenating, purifying and soothing.Â
The balancing skin care system is designed for normal combination skin, best described as having fine to average pore size and experiencing occasional breakouts. The rejuvenating skin care system, meanwhile, is formulated to improve dry and mature skin. The skin care products under this system works well against dry, patchy skin and dull complexion. I chose to try the products from these two skin care systems for this article.

For those with oily skin prone to blackheads and other blemishes, on the other hand, Miessence offers the purifying skin care system. Herbs with astringent properties have been used to repair, calm and nourish the skin. The last one to complete the list, the soothing skin care system, is designed to help sensitive skin with its antimicrobial, moisturizing and toning ingredients.Â
Each system, I have found, features an easy three-step process to help you on your way to smooth and beautiful skin. Firstly it is recommended that you use the cleanser to remove the top layer of dead cells, oil, perspiration and pollution. It is suggested that you soften and prepare your skin with a warm cloth before applying the cleanser.
After cleansing your skin, the next vital step is to massage a good amount of skin conditioner gently on your face and throat. The conditioner is necessary in that it feeds the skin with vital nutrients and helps the moisturizer to work at its best on your skin.
The third and last step is to moisturize, and any Miessence moisturizer creates a protective barrier against free radicals and moisture loss.Â

Balancing and Rejuvenating Cleansers
The cleansers both smell good for organic products, although I prefer the smell of the rejuvenating cleanser for some reason. For me, the smell reminds me a bit of lilacs. Just a pea-sized amount of the oil-based cleanser is enough to remove dirt and make up off my face.
Balancing and Rejuvenating Skin Conditioners
The skin conditioners smell the same as their cleanser counterparts, and both make my face feel tight after a few minutes. I love applying my face with the amber liquid!
Just found out that the moisturizer should be applied right after the skin conditioner, so it should not feel tight on the skin at all.

Balancing and Rejuvenating Moisturizers
Personally the balancing and rejuvenating moisturizers feel somewhat oily on the skin (and even my hands!) a few minutes after application. Although both moisturizers are very emollient and strong-smelling products, they do work their magic, making my skin feel softer and younger looking.  Ranking the moisturizers based on strength, the lightest is the purifying, next balancing, followed by soothing, with rejuvenating the heaviest. If you prefer a light moisturizer, it is best to use the purifying one.
