It looks like the apple truly doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Former beauty queen Melanie Marquez’s daughter, Michelle Dee, seems to be following in her mother’s footsteps with her plans to compete in the upcoming Miss World Philippines 2019. The pageant will be taking place this September 8, 2019.
Michelle announced the news on her Instagram last August 5 while Miss World Philippines similarly divulged her pageant bid on their official Instagram account last August 4. She shared with her followers: “I’m officially candidate #21 for #MWP2019. Today marks Day 1 of my @msworldphil journey. I just wanted to thank everyone for your unending support. It truly means the world to me. I hope I make all of you proud.”

She also shared a couple of photos on her Instagram story, captioning the first: “Yesterday was such an experience! Please continue to support me and all the other girls throughout this journey.” The second announced her official candidate number, in order for supporters to identify her.

Michelle has actually had plans for continuing her mother’s legacy since 2016 which she mentioned in an interview. She shared then: “Yes, I do have plans to join. It’s been running through my mind ever since. Nafe-feel ko rin na may potential din sana ako.” [I do feel that I might also have potential.]
