Michael Jordan to donate his entire ‘The Last Dance’ earnings to charity

With sports arenas going silent due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release of Michael Jordan’s The Last Dance cannot come at a better time.

The first two episodes of the documentary are now out on Netflix. They have easily become the two most-watched sports showcases on the streaming platform.

With this, Jordan is reportedly planning to donate every single penny he is going to earn from the documentary to charity, according to Forbes.

$0: The amount Jordan will bank from The Last Dance. He’s donating his entire share of the proceeds, which should reach at least $3 million to $4 million, to charitable causes.

With the basketball legend looking to earn around $3 to $4 million from the show, fans can just imagine how much the platform will be making from it. It is quite a noble act from Jordan to this but it is quite expected since he has been doing charity work since he retired playing basketball 17 years ago.

Let’s not forget that The Last Dance was 30 years in the making, which makes sense in terms of its projected earnings. Still, it seems like that’s pretty slow in terms of return on investment.

The first two episodes are about Jordan’s early years with the team and the role of former Bulls general manager Jerry Krause. Episodes 1 and 2 were made available on Sunday night. Episodes 3 and 4 are slated for release on April 26.
