Happy Pride indeed.
After attracting a record-breaking 25,000 attendees at last year’s gathering for the LGBT+ community, this year broke another record with a whopping 70,000 attendees. By 4PM, the crowds reached 30,000 and it surpassed the 50,000 mark by 6:30PM.

This year’s Pride March is themed Resist Together, an homage to the Stonewall riots in New York in 1969. The riots began during repeated raids on the Stonewall Inn, sparking the gay liberation movement in the US and the world.
The Metro Manila Pride March is the oldest pride march in Southeast Asia. It began in 1994 and allowed members of the LGBT+ community and its allies to celebrate their gender identity and expression while fighting for social issues. This year’s march was held yesterday at the Marikina Sports Center.
