Meraki is a month-long student celebration of the UP Diliman College of Social Science and Philosophy’s 35th year of service and excellence. Dubbed the Konsensya ng Bayan, this event aims to reinforce this identity by creating both academic and recreational avenues for college spirit, as well as passing this on to the next generation. Meraki includes the following events:
MERAKI Month Launch
February 6, UP Palma Hall Steps
This brief opening ceremony, complete with several prominent speakers from the university as well as student performances, will be held to kickstart the month’s activities.
ISYCHROS: College Sportsfest
February 6-8, 10, 12, 17, UP Sunken Garden
CSSP’s annual sports tournament promotes solidarity through healthy competition, as well as a healthy lifestyle. This event features basketball, volleyball, and other team activities.
PHANTASIA: Academic Undergraduate Conference
February 19, UP National Institute of Physics
The 3rd installment of this academic conference provides an avenue for CSSP undergraduates to showcase their academic work to a panel of renowned experts in various fields of research.
ARETE: Social Sciences & Philosophy Summit
February 23-24, UP NISMED
This summit promotes the social sciences to senior high school students through a 2-day convention filled with symposia, paper presentations, commission discussions, and various workshops.
AMARANTHINE: MX CSSP Pageant
March 2, UP Palma Hall Steps
Mx CSSP, the first gender-sensitive pageant in the university, concludes the Meraki celebration with a showcase of creativity and advocacies of CSSP’s 8 departments through the performing arts.
