Before Meghan Markle’s and Prince Harry’s relationship was made public, it was revealed that Meghan was being considered by producers for a Bond Girl role!
Producers of the James Bond franchise reportedly had the Suits actress in mind for a Bond girl role in the next 007 film dubbed as Bond 25, alongside current James Bond actor Daniel Craig, according to British newspaper The Sun.
According to a source:
“Meghan fits the role of a Bond girl perfectly. She’s glamorous and sexy and a good actress.
The role more recently has gone to actresses deemed to be rising stars, and Meghan certainly was seen as that before her relationship with Harry became public. The brief was to find a glamorous rising star, specifically someone American or Canadian.”
The source adds:
“But the minute her relationship to Harry came to light they assumed she was out of the running so it soon became a list of four. Her engagement effectively spelt an end to her acting career too so that was the final blow.”
Aside from Meghan, Baywatch actress Ilfenesh Hadera was also reportedly on the shortlist.
Since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, Meghan has announced that she will be giving up her acting career for royal and philanthropic tasks.
