Cats are known for being independent creatures that only play with you when they’re in the mood. Unlike dogs, most cats don’t need constant human validation or play-time, which makes them irresistible to us humans.
Cats are popular (they outnumber dogs by three to one in the US) because they are both affectionate and self-reliant. You can leave them on their own the whole day and they will survive, but they will be loving as soon as you get home. Assuming of course, that they like you.
There’s tons of research trying to understand how cats work, but all that goes down the drain when we see a cute kitty. Who cares about their semi-tame past, we just want them to like us! And when we see these cats with their min-me’s, we just go ‘Awwwwww!’
