Mayor Vico Sotto is definitely one of the most loved leaders of our time and he recently thanked ABS-CBN stars Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin for donating One Million Pesos (Php1,000,000) to Pasig City’s efforts to fight COVID-19.
The kapamilya actresses had raised Six Million Pesos (Php6,000,000) in an auction and donated the proceeds to different LGU’s and to Philippine National Red Cross. “Dinonate nila ito walang fanfare, walang media. Ni hindi nga kami nagkita. Iniwan lang nila ‘yung tseke,” Mayor Sotto said in a Facebook live video. “Thank you sa lahat nang tumutulong, nagmamalasakit, alam ko man o hindi,” he added.
According to the Mayor, they will be using the donation to procure more vaccines. “I-earmark lang po natin kasi sa ngayon wala pa pong bagong manufacturer na puwedeng pag-orderan,” he said.
Pasig City is yet to receive its 400,000 vaccine doses from AstraZeneca and he is hoping that it will arrive by the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2021. He also shared that they are looking into vaccinating at least 700,000 residents.
