Mayor Isko Moreno threatens closure of malls that sell stolen cellphones

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has ordered the closure of two major malls in the city within 72 hours if the stalls inside them continue to sell stolen cellphones.

The head of the city “threatened to close the entire Tutuban Mall and Isetann Mall Recto in 72 hours if they continue to coddle vendors who buy and sell stolen mobile phones,” according to an alert issued on the city’s Facebook page.

The two malls allegedly have many stalls that sell second-hand phones and brand new phone accessories.

The alert also mentioned that “the warning was also issued to all malls in the nation’s capital.”
