Young actress Maymay Entrata is putting her foot down as fans continue to spread rumors that she has something special with a fellow actor, Donny Pangilinan.
Maymay and Donny, who are both in separate love teams, were first romantically linked by fans a few years back when they would bond over being in the variety show ASAP together. At the time, Maymay’s love team partner Edward Barber said that he wasn’t at all bothered by the rumors and claimed that Donny is just a good friend of theirs.
Fast forward to today and the rumors don’t seem to be letting up. Maymay even had to recently deny these claims once more during an interview with DJ Jhaiho on Hotspot last June 2021.
“Siguro nagsimula ‘yan kay Donny dahil kasama ko siya lagi sa ‘ASAP.’ Nami-misunderstood nila yung mga galawan namin, yung smile namin na akala nila nagtitinginan,” she said. “Pero hindi po kami ni Donny.”
[“I think it began because Donny and I were always together on ASAP. Fans are misunderstanding our behavior around one another, our smiles that they think are because of our stolen glances. But Donny and I are not dating.”]
Now, she’s pleading MayDon fans to stop shipping her with the actor in a tweet she published on Saturday, October 2.
“Gusto kong magpasalamat sa bawat isa sa mga sumuporta sakin since day one. Sa lahat ng MayDon fans, thank you pero gusto ko rin pong klaruhin na wala pong namamagitan sa aming dalawa,” she wrote. “Sana ma-stop po ang pag-spread ng rumors about samin. Maraming salamat po.”
[“I want to thank each and every one of my supporters who’ve been there for me since day one. To all the MayDon fans, thank you but I wish to clarify that there is nothing more between us. I hope that you stop spreading rumors about us. Thank you very much.”]
Donny is currently in a love team with Belle Mariano.
Maymay, meanwhile, revealed that she is seeing a mystery man who is not from the showbiz industry.
