Matteo Guidicelli Appointed as National Youth Commission Ambassador

Actor Matteo Guidicelli was recently designated to represent the Philippines’ National Youth Commission (NYC). The NYC is a government agency in the Philippines that specifically addresses issues surrounding Filipino youth.

The announcement was made just this March 2. The government agency revealed Matteo would officially be appointed as a Youth Ambassador “based on the Commission’s Resolution No. 26, series of 2019, that also recognizes his significant contribution to youth development.”

Matteo reacted to the appointment on his Twitter account by sharing the news and saying: “An honor and privilege. Thank you.”

Last year, Matteo became part of the Philippine Army, under the Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM). He explained that his joining was because he “loved his country.” At the time, he wrote that “it is beyond the uniform, it is all about willingness to serve the country and being prepared for any eventuality.”

He went on to receive the rank of second lieutenant, where he promised to “serve and protect my beautiful country to the best of my ability. ”

It is still unclear what his responsibilities as NYC Ambassador will entail.
