Sorry, Marvin and Jolina fans! It looks like the beloved loveteam’s 20th Anniversary reunion movie might not make it to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe, Jolina Magdangal said that the script didn’t make it in time for the deadline of submissions. “Naiintindihan ko kasi ‘pag ganitong comeback hindi mo dapat minamadali talaga yung script […] basta lang makapasok. Yung excitement namin baka mapunta nalang sa pressure,” she shared.

(“I understand because when it comes to comebacks like this you can’t rush the script […] just for the sake of being included in the roster. The excitement we’ve been feeling over the movie might turn into pressure instead.”)

She mentioned that the only way their movie can be included in the film festival is if they finish it by next month which, as Jolina discussed with Marvin Agustin, is close to impossible.

She added that the movie might be released next year instead.

The upcoming film is set to be written by Juan Miguel Severo and Bibeth Orteza, and to be directed by Dan Villegas with production company Project 8 corner San Joaquin—the same producers of That Thing Called Tadhana.

Looks like we have to wait a little more for the MarJo reunion movie!
