Marcuzo’s Turon is Not Your Ordinary Turon

Who doesn’t love turon? Everyone in my family is a fan of these deep fried bananas wrapped in spring roll wrappers. Whether as a snack or as dessert; when there’s turon on the table, everyone seems to flock towards it. Just when we thought turon couldn’t get any yummier, though, we stumbled upon Marcuzo’s versions of it… and we were floored!

Maddy Lopez shares that she has eaten turon with their vanilla cream sauce ever since she was a child. “This unique recipe has literally been in our family for decades,” she shares. Since Maddy’s mom retired recently and is now living with Maddy and her two sisters, they decided they wanted to set up a business to do something valuable with their time.

After doing a search on Google and realizing that they seemed to be the only people who ate turon with vanilla cream sauce, Maddy suggested selling it. After all, since turon is easy to prepare and cook, even seniors can enjoy making them. Maddy and her aunts have since become the designated turon rollers, while her mom is the one who cooks. Her husband, on the other hand, takes care of the inventory, deliveries, and errands – a real family affair!

Marcuzo’s started selling in BF Resort until people from other villages started to order. Thanks to word of mouth, this beloved family recipe has blossomed into a one-of-a-kind, delicious, and familiar creation… but with a twist. You can really taste the happiness and love that goes into their turon. Also, their ube banana turon doesn’t have any sugar in it. It simply relies on the all-natural sweetness of the ube and the bananas. “We carefully select the bananas we use,” Maddy adds.

The best part is that they have recently added three new flavors that are sure to win you over, as well: Mango por la Tarde (mango banana, a seasonal flavor because they only have one supplier for the wraps), Pinacoco por la Tarde (pineapple coconut banana), and Chonana (banana Nutella).

I honestly thought the Chonana ones would become our family favorite, but everybody fell in love with the Pinacoco por la Tarde. In fact, we loved them so much, we ate the entire order in one sitting. (No regrets!) If you want a leveled up version of regular turon, you absolutely need to try Marcuzo’s turon! Their special sauce definitely sets the bar higher, and I can attest that both children and adults will love every single flavor on their roster.
