Marco Gumabao is officially venturing into the world of politics. The actor and model has completed a Public Service Administration certificate course from the University of the Philippines – National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG).
He shared his new milestone on social media, posting snaps from his class and certificate course completion. His girlfriend, Cristine Reyes, also took the course.
“Everyday is a new opportunity to learn and grow,” he captioned. “Thank you to all my professors, will definitely keep in my heart everything Iโve learned.”

In the comments, Cristine expressed support for him, “Go, love! Proverbs 1:5: Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.”
Marco filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2025 midterm elections. He is running as a representative for the fourth district of Camarines Sur under the National Unity Party.
Upon announcing his desire to vie for a seat in public office, a netizen asked him what he could offer. In response, he emphasized that he wants to โbreak the stigmaโ surrounding actors who run for public office, challenging the perception that they donโt take it seriously.
“At a young age, I was exposed to public service already because I have family members who were public servants before. It has always been in my heart to use my platform to help people,” he continued.

Marco then noted his educational background at Ateneo De Manila University and De La Salle University and revealed that he was taking a course in public administration.
“Iโm not here to say that Iโm the smartest or I know it all but, one thing is for sure, my work ethic is something Iโm very proud of. Masipag ako lalo na pag gusto ko ang ginagawa ko, maayos ako makitungo sa tao (I’m hardworking, especially when I like what I do, I interact well with people) and, above all, I genuinely wanna help,” he reiterated.
The actor and model appeared in films and shows, including “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Los Bastardos,” “Pusong Ligaw,” “She’s Dating the Gangster,” “Forevermore,” and “Just the Way You Are.”
