Marc Pingris Retires From The PBA

One of the most sought after Basketball Players of his generation, Marc Pingris is hanging up his jersey after 16 years in the PBA.

Marc took to Instagram the announcement of his retirement with a very emotional video.

“I remember my name being called during the 2004 PBA Draft. Doon nagsimulang matupad ang pangarap ng isang batang palengke. 16 years na din ako sa PBA pero alam ko na ngayon na din ang tamang panahon para umpisahan ang bagong chapter ng buhay ko,” he said.

Marc Pingris had played for FedEx Express, Purefoods Chunkee Giants/Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants, Magnolia Beverage Masters/San Miguel Beermen, B-Meg, San Mig Coffee Mixers, Star Hotshots, Magnolia and the Philippine National Team or Gilas.

One of the highlights of his career is winning a Grand Slam with Purefoods in 2014. He also played a huge part in the Philippines historic fight during the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship where the team got a silver medal. Their return in 2015 in the same league also got a silver.

Aside from the team wins, Pingris had an excellent career in the pBA where he got a Finals MVP award twice and a three-time Defensive Player of the Year with 15 All-Star wins.
